Twitter is one of the great communications venues of the social media revolution. Although many of the over 40 generation have embraced social media, it’s completely amazing to me how many and how often this group will make excuses for not participating with more vigor. After all, this group chased music through 8 tracks, cassettes, compact discs and now mp3’s. Some of this group are in real denial about the impacts of social media!
Big Business is embracing the change, if you watch television, you can find links to Twitter and Facebook regularly. Interestingly enough, TV is now driving traffic to the net (websites). Why? Simple really, you can sell something on the net … you can’t do that on TV.
As your digital agency, we recommend that you increase your social media presence, notably on Twitter and Facebook. There’s no excuse for you to be missing the party, after all as I’ve written before, your digital footprint will be written with our without your input.
Now get out there and have some fun. It’s a great way to communicate and share with family, friends, coworkers and even customers. Like anything, social media requires attention and effort, not different than the to-do list at home. The sooner the better. Get to work on the social media to do list!
