Searchable and discoverable are terms we use regularly when reviewing your online space. There should be a high correlation of words that are used in your online (web) communications and the words that customers would use in searching for your business. Search engines use words to filter.
Building a list of words and phrases that your customers would use in “searching” for your service takes time and is serious business. Using a generic focus group will assist in building keywords and phrases. I’ll bet you’ll be surprised in how people search for your services. We suggest using combinations of 1, 2 and 3 keywords in building your list.
The obvious keywords will be simple, however, the best keywords will incorporate phrases, words, such as new, used, cheap, cheapest, fast, instant, words that describe your services or services that a customer may use. Normally we recommend against industry jargon, or inside industry speak. Simple is best.
