Groupon offers you the local “deal of the day”. Another example of how social marketing is changing your day to day life, in this case shopping. We stress again, change and transition.
Groupon founder Andrew Mason urges businesses to make deals on Groupon the best deal available. Based out of Chicago, Groupon promotes social interaction among its users such as dining, spa and even skydiving. The “group on” model is working.
Currently, Groupon has about 2 million subscribers in over 28 markets and is adding a new market weekly and 200,000 new customers. Their revenue comes from sharing in the deal it sells, getting paid roughly one-half of most deals.
Interesting how the deals are structured, they are offered for a predetermined number of customers during a 24 hour period, so as a customer you must act quickly. We are fortunate that Toronto is one of the new markets and today’s deal is valued at almost 1/3 standard pricing, significant really. The Groupon Toronto link is here.
Naturally, you can share the deal of the day with your social network on Twitter, Facebook, and email.
If you like deals, you’ll likely like Groupon, here’s a link on how it works here. This is another example of how the internet and social marketing is impacting your business directly. Your consumers are online, and bargain hunting without ever leaving home.
As your digital agency we urge you to embrace your online and social marketing presence, we can assist you in developing a test offer. After all, everyone loves a deal!
