Blogs > Email – A Big Chunk of the Pie
February 14, 2013 Michael Bickerton
It’s hard to keep track, so much going on these days, but it’s important as social and mobile continue to develop that we do not lose sight of the Big Slice.
Let’s keep in mind that many business owners have not kept up with the changes in the digital sphere. Many have changed their marketing plans, or should we be saying reduced their marketing budget, but, have yet to start the digital spend. Email is the first place for marketers to put some budget money.
Here are some facts on daily activity:
1) Email Messages – 188 Billion
2) Websites Searches – 3.3 Billion
3) Google Items Shared – 1 Billion
4) Twitter Tweets – 140 Million
5) Facebook Updates – 60 Million
Here are some facts on total accounts:
1) Email – 2.9 Billion
2) Facebook – 750 Million
3) Websites – 463 Million
4) Twitter – 300 Million
5) Google+ – 10 Million
It’s pretty clear that email dominates all forms of communication. The Big chunk of the pie is email and it’s important for you to continue to develop and build those email lists. Your future depends on it. Bickerton says email is perfect as it allows you to communicate your message, on time schedule to the person you want to inform.
