Blogs > Do A Barrel Roll – Google Search

Every so often you come across something that in the end is just plain fun! Some would suggest silly, but Google (not so silly) does have a loose and easy environment. You might be asking though, “do a barrel roll?”
Search the term “do a barrel roll” or “tilt” on Google and you’ll see something that should make you smile. Yes, have some fun with it! Those of you who know what a real Pin Ball machine looks like, you know the one with the steel ball bearing, will really enjoy the search term “tilt”. That’s right go to Google and search those terms NOW!
According to Chris Taylor of Mashable, “Hey Yahoo, Do a Barrel Roll: How Google Wins With Whimsical Tricks” this gang is known for free ice cream and Friday hockey games. Certainly, Google has a loose approach contrary to most offices. I have to say when I first began my business, personal calls and email were frowned upon and today, we embrace email and social media sites readily.
The take away, have some fun, loosen up a bit. If you can afford the time give your staff some developmental opportunities. Not everything we do has to be so serious, if it’s good enough for Google, well … you know.
Need another light moment, check out this video, 2,494,957 views can’t be wrong. In fact, share them both with your staff. Google provided these for us to share.
