Yelp is a website and mobile app that connects people with great local businesses. People use Yelp to search for everything from the city’s tastiest burger to the most renowned cardiologist. Get discovered in your neighbourhood.
Yelp allows your business to:
Recognize the value of customer reviews
Respond to your customers
Measure visitor activity on your page
Create a strong photo gallery
Easily discover and leverage your local competition
Connect to OpenTable to take reservations for restaurants
The best way to manage your business on Yelp is by claiming your Yelp Business Page and creating a business login. It’s a great, free way to engage the Yelp community.
Get Your Business on Yelp and Claim your listing
Go to https://biz.yelp.com and type in the street address and business name, then click “Get Started”.
If your business comes up, click “Claim This Business” to the right. If your business doesn’t come up, click “Can’t find your business? Add your business to Yelp” below.
Once you’ve clicked “Add your business to Yelp”, you’ll arrive at the page below. Fill in all your business details, including your address, business hours, categories, and an email address that Yelp will use to verify. Once complete, click “Add business”.
Next you’ll have to confirm your email address. Your business will not appear in search results until the information has been verified and approved by Yelp moderators. Once approved, you will receive an email to claim your business.
If your business did come up in the previous step, you will be prompted to create a business account.
Once your account is created, it’s time to verify the listing. You can choose to verify by call or text. If you do choose to do so by a phone call, Yelp will call the number in your listing and you will have to be at your place of business when you do this to answer the call and submit the verification code.
That’s it! After claiming your business page, you will be able to:
Respond to reviews, both privately and publicly
Track the User Views and Customer Leads Yelp is generating for your business
Add photos and a link to your website
Update important information such as your business hours and phone number
Don’t forget to complete your business listing, the more information you provide, the better!
