Social Media Success

Forbes published an interesting article titled “19 Things Successful People Do On Social Media” written by TJ McCue. As you know I spend quite some time on social media (okay, some days more than others) so naturally, I was drawn to this piece.

The commentary was rather insightful so I’ve broken it down to my favourite FIVE:

  1. Believe – they believe that they are adding value to their followers
  2. Listen – they listen, read & learn from others
  3. Variety – they utilize a variety of social networks
  4. Email – they use EMAIL (my favourite & your primary tool)
  5. Genuine – they are genuine, engaging, and keep it real

Although I’ve only shared my top 5, the article provides 19 thought provoking ideas that center around social media conduct, manners and ways that can be used to assist you in your social media content and posting programs.

The takeaway here is that if you believe in what you do and the networks you use (i.e. your fans, followers, friends etc.), if you treat people right, respect the power of social and provide valuable content you will be successful.

Not much different than “Field of Dreams” – build it and they will come.
