We’d like to start this section by saying congratulations on your new business! It’s an exciting journey you’re embarking on, as well remember no business is too small or too big for RAVEN5!
Anyway… Let’s cut to the chase, you want to run a great promotion but don’t have the funds to hire a marketing agency (yet), we get it! Just because you can’t hire one doesn’t mean there aren’t things you can do yourself until you get to that place.
As was the case with starting a business, as is the case with small business consumer promotions; think: crawl, walk, run. First and foremost outline your objective, and be specific! We all want more customers and more profits and that’s all well but try to pinpoint why that need has occurred. Are you brand new and nobody knows you (yet)? Have you entered an already saturated market? Have you angered past customers? Is your service or product good enough? You have to critically look within and figure out what the problem is. But please, pick just one problem at a time, it’s understandable to want to fix it all at once but your promotion won’t be successful without a clear plan.
The next step is, who are we trying to reach? Yes, yes, you obviously want to reach your audience, customer, consumer or whatever you wish to call them, but WHO ARE THEY? Sorry for yelling but we cannot stress how important it is to know this, actually we’ve touched on this topic 3 times alone in this thread and easily 1,000 times previously. So… yeah… you have to know that.
Moving on (seriously we’ve spoken on it above just take a look, gosh!). Some other things to keep in mind are timelines, it will take a lot of your time to plan, budget, and run so keep that in mind.
