Blogs > What Is ShopLoop?

ShopLoop is a product of Google that is an engaging way for consumers to shop for new products! This is an experimental product of Google from Area 120, Google’s workshop for experimental products.
Using 90-second and under videos, the point is to introduce users to new products by having influencers test the product, describe it, and share their opinions on the product
Essentially this is a Youtube introduction, demonstration, and review while adding the convenience of being able to purchase on the spot without switching platforms.
ShopLoop isn’t available on desktop, mobile devices only (for now).
The idea for ShopLoop came from Lax Poojary (General Manager, Shoploop) when he came across a young lady switching through two social media apps then an e-commerce site just to buy a product. The first app was to learn about the new product, the second app was for a demonstration and reviews and the e-commerce site, of course, was to purchase. Seeing the three-step process gave him the idea for a one-stop-shop for all things makeup, skincare, hair, and nails!
The platform is meant to be as helpful as possible so they use content influencers, publishers, and online store owners for the demonstration of products. If you are a person that falls under any of those titles in the beauty industry you can apply to be a ShopLoop Creator through their website.
