With 83% of users discovering new products and services on Instagram every day, Instagram has plenty of tools that brands can utilize.
Transitioning your basic profile to a Business profile gives followers an opportunity to contact you just by clicking a button. A business profile also allows you to create and publish ads, and grants access to analytics tools that provide stats, impressions and reach on your posts and stories. It has been found that 80% of users follow a business page.
Brands that want to target their audience directly can do so through Instagram ads. The app sneakily camouflages these posts into user timelines as they’re scrolling, which usually tend to be very appealing to the target demographic. With a choice to post a sponsored photo or video, it has been found that videos receive 3 times more comments than sponsored photos.
Instagram stories give you the freedom to add photos, videos or gifs to a dashboard in any way you please, to then have fun with them by adding text, drawing or icons. Stories last for 24 hours from the time of posting, but can also be saved as “Highlights” on your brand profile.
The use of hashtags is a simple way to increase post reach and to create more engagement on your posts. Hashtags start by the symbol # followed by a relevant or catchy phrase, a combination of letters, numbers or even emojis. Including hashtags will make your post most discoverable, on average, posts with at least one hashtag gain 12.6% more engagement.
For marketers not leveraging Instagram currently or infrequently, I highly recommend you and your social team get serious about Instagram, the number of active users interacting with brands makes Instagram a must leverage social tactic for every firm.
