Marketers are aware of the fact that coupons are a great way to drive traffic, build awareness, gain favorable impressions, engage customers and ultimately impact sales. We all know this, as such; the trick these days is to provide offers, coupons etc. to reward your followers. Time to get some social style incentives!
Followers engage with brands for a variety of reasons. It’s our opinion that you need to reward those fans with special offers (Fan Only Offers, Email List Offers, Followers Only Offers). It’s reasonable to assume that these fans at some point will get tired of listening to your notice, or in the alternative will cleanse their lists, or update who they follow, it’s a natural step in the housekeeping of social.
In order to not get swept away in the cleaning process, your brand, your page, your list must always be seen as “valuable”. Providing offers and specific offers tailored to your followers, after all you should reward those “A” clients and prospects.
In a recent study by ExactTarget it was found that 40% of people LIKE your page to receive a discount and or a coupon. I’m not sure you need this but, here is some basic information.
Coupons are FREE, it’s like a ticket and it’s yours to use or not use as you see fit. Coupons are used to invite and initiate the purchase transaction. Discounts are the hard sell of a product or service; discounts have a price tag and require a purchase to activate.
When creating coupons here are a few tips:
Again the why? Marketers need to reward email subscribers and social followers with exclusivity and ensure they see and feel the value of the relationship. Providing incentives are a necessary part of any strong social relationship. Remember, everyone LOVES a deal.
