Email marketing is still one of the most effective marketing tools. You can get your message out, when you want it, for one of the lowest deployment costs compared to other marketing communications. If you’re a marketer in Canada, you have to protect your business by ensuring that email addresses you obtain and emails you send out follow the guidelines under Canada’s Anti-Spam Law (CASL).
For example, did you know that along with the new laws, the ways that email address are collected must follow specific rules too? You as a business or brand must ensure that you (or third-parties you employ) must not use any automated programs to collect emails. This is interesting, because now emails require some kind of consent. I’ve talked about CASL and Consent before, and it’s worth checking out.
The Privacy Commissioner of Canada’s website has a lot of good information about CASL. Here’s a CASL Refresher from here at Raven5, and here’s more CASL Information. We at Raven5 have worked extensively with email marketing programs, and can help get your email list CASL compliant! Got a minute? Check out the Evolution of Google’s Logo.
Don’t forget – we are #ContestMarketing – the World’s First Contest Marketing Agency. A strong contest marketing platform, combined with traditional email marketing is a win-win! Check out RAVEN5 today.
