Facebook Gives Access to Your IP Address!

We had some good discussions last week about the pros and cons of social networks such as Facebook. From a security point of view the experts are simply shaking their heads. They cannot believe we have trusted Facebook to the degree we have. Our chief guru of Internet Security, Glenn Herdy of Protecht passed this message on:

“Just a heads-up about Facebook leaking people’s (friends) IP addresses when a friend comments on your wall. Think it’s time for people to finally realize just how insecure social networking is.”

Make some noise people. This is easy to change and is a breach of privacy that is completely unnecessary. Let Facebook know you want this changed.
